This year has been filled with controversy, drama, Twitter rants and subs. A lot has happened from January 2016-June 2016.

1) Tiwa Savage fires back at Tee Billz

There is no story that is bigger than Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz’s marriage drama this year. On April 28, 2016 Tee Billz blasted his wife Tiwa Savage on his Instagram page and accused her of sleeping with her label mates Dr. Sid, Don Jazzy and Nigerian pop legend 2face Idibia. A day later Pulse exclusively obtained a Tiwa Savage interview where she spoke explicitly about her damaged marriage with Tee Billz. The video would go down in Nigerian history as one of the fastest watched videos on YouTube.

2) Olamide vs Don Jazzy/The Headies

This clash of super brands set off the tone of the year. On January 1, 2016 Olamide publicly expressed his displeasure when his protege Lil Kesh failed to win the coveted Next Rated award at the Headies. He raised the middle finger and used cuss words on stage before leaving the award ceremony in annoyance. Don Jazzy who felt Olamide’s display was a shade at his own protege Reekado Banks who won the award got on stage and told Olamide they didn’t need the car prize that comes with the award. Incensed, Olamide got on Twitter to diss Don Jazzy. As the industry braced for a huge war between both camps, Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote waded into the matter and called for peace.

3) Davido’s baby mama drama

On December 31, 2015 Ovation publisher Chief Dele Momodu exposed Davido and his family for trying to travel with his grand niece out of the country to America without the consent of his niece- Davido’s baby mama. This move by Dele Momodu started a war that centered in baby napping. Accusations were thrown from both sides, the Adelekes and the Momodus. After much mudslinging a truce was called but that did not stop Davido from calling Dele Momodu his ‘boy’.

4) Psquare split

We had seen this in 2014 but 2016 was the real deal. A few months ago the mighty Psquare pop group had its biggest challenge when member Peter Okoye said he wanted out of the group because of manager Jude Okoye’s counterproductive ways. This triggered a month of brothers fighting brothers on social media and fans crying their eyes out so that the group won’t split. After much pressure Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye agreed to stop attacking each other publicly. There is still no clear verdict on the future of Psquare.

5) Toyin Aimakhu and Seun Egbegbe

When the Nollywood actress left her husband Adeniyi Johnson last year she fell into the arms of self proclaimed movie producer Seun Egbegbe. The relationship was however far from perfect with unconfirmed reports of beatings and kidnap. When the two lovers split another round of drama began with Seun Egbegbe threatening to blacklist Toyin Aimakhu for the unsavoury comments she made about him in several interviews.

6) Linda Ikeji vs Wizkid

These two celebrities had a serious ‘Tom & Jerry’ relationship going on. The beef started when Linda Ikeji revealed that Wizkid had fathered a second child and said he was a deadbeat father. Wizkid didn’t like this and took his pound of flesh when Linda Ikeji had a Birkin bag drama. Linda Ikeji fired back by posting onher blog that Wizkid has been evicted from his mansion in Lekki. The pop star would go on to make threats at the blogger which saw him invited to the police station.

7) Wizkid’s second baby mama

The story of Wizkid having another child from a woman known as Binta Diamond Diallo was big on the Internet. It was so huge that Wizkid released a confusing statement from his management concerning the issue. Binta Diamond Diallo would go on to say that Wizkid wasn’t living up to his duties as a father. Recently she shared a photo of a paternity test stating that Wizkid is the father of her son.

8) Toke Makinwa’s divorce

Early this month popular vlogger and OAP Toke Makinwa filed for divorce from her estranged husband Maje Ayida. A can of worms were exposed in the divorce papers were Makinwa revealed that Ayida was unfaithful, failed to pay bills, public humiliation and made her lose a multi-million Naira endorsement.

9) Mide Martins marriage saga

This is probably the most strange celebrity marriage drama story of 2016. According to reports actress Mide Martins fainted and landed in the husband after her husband left their matrimonial home to an undisclosed location. This health scare was followed with the rumour that Mide Martins’ husband abandoned his family because he found out that his wife had allegedly slept with his best friend. Mide Martins and her husband have now reconciled.

10) Burna Boy’s baby mama drama

The gifted singer has been in so many controversies in 2016 but none tops the cake than his baby mama scandal. A lady named Uju Stella claimed that Burna Boy was responsible for her pregnancy. Burna Boy came out to deny that he did not impregnate Uju Stella because he only slept with her once. The drama has also brought Burna Boy’s mother into the forefront.
