Nigeria football has suffered another loss as Amodu Shuaibu, a four-time head coach of the Super Eagles and the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), passes away.
The unfortunate incident comes after ex-Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi was pronounced dead on Wednesday, June 8, at the age of 54.
Incidentally, the two former coaches died in their sleep and in the same city, Benin, Edo State capital.
According to senior football officials who spoke to AFP, Amodu had been on medication for hypertension.
His body has been deposited at the Stella Obasanjo hospital in Benin, where Keshi's corpse is also kept, report said.t
Amodu qualified Nigeria to two World Cups in 2010 and in 2002, with Keshi as his assistant.
He rose to prominence when he guided BCC Lions of Gboko to win the Africa Cup Winners Cup in 1991.
