Payback Time Men who tortured Uzoamaka Chukwu charged to court

It is now payback time for Ogbonnaya Ene Odi, the Coordinator of Ohaozara Development Centre, in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, his younger brother, Enekwachi Ene Odi, and thre police officers who either supervised or took part in the brutal stripping and torture of 15-year-old
Uzoamaka Chukwu, a Junior Secondary School Two (JSS2), student, on the spurious allegation that she was caught having sex with a man in her father's bedroom.

According to Hon. Linus Abaa Okorie, the lawmaker representing Onicha, Ohaozara and Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who had vowed to do anything possible to bring justice for the poor girl who came to national limelight when the video of the abuse was posted online, the police in the state did not waste anytime in getting the suspects arrested as well as beginning an orderly room trial for its officers for the role they played.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, has also vowed to make sure the police officers are prosecuted after the orderly room trial.

“The victim has just been able to make her painful statement to the command and the case is being diligently investigated to ensure that justice will be done in this scandalous incident.”
