A game-less month of June means that the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped nine places in the latest FIFA Ranking released on Thursday, July 14.
They
also dropped in the African ranking and now 17th, behind Algeria (32),
Cote d’Ivoire (35), Ghana (36), Senegal (41), Egypt (43), Tunisia (45),
Cameroon (53), Morocco (54) Congo DR (59) Mali (61), Cape Verde Island
(62), Guinea (63), South Africa (67) Benin Republic (68), Uganda (69)
and Congo (70).
The Super Eagles of
Nigeria are only above Zambia (88) in their 2018 World Cup qualifying
group. Algeria (32) and Cameroon (53) are the other countries in the
group.
In the World Ranking, Argentina remain number one despite losing the Copa America final to Chile.
Chile are fifth while Euro 2016 winners, Portugal are sixth.
